Pediatric
The relationship of age to the effects of itraconazole is not a subject of appropriate investigation in children. There is no evidence of safety or effectiveness.
Geriatric
The usefulness of itraconazole in the elderly is not limited to geriatrics-specific issues that have not yet been demonstrated in appropriate studies. However, older people are at increased risk of developing age-related kidney, liver, or heart problems or temporary or permanent hearing loss, which may require caution and a change in the dose for patients taking itraconazole.
